The Byrne lab at the University of Pittsburgh is currently searching for highly motivated and well qualified applicants to fill an open position. The lab, located in the Departments of Ophthalmology, Neurobiology, and Bioengineering, works in the field of gene therapy for inherited retinal degeneration.
We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to work in the area of viral vector engineering and promoter/enhancer design. We are developing high throughput quantitative methods to develop viral vectors, and we are recruiting a researcher with strong computational skills to work with deep sequencing data. Candidates must be fluent in python and have experience analyzing high throughput sequencing data. Molecular biology skills, including experience producing deep sequencing libraries are a plus.
